Located in the heart of the Aude region, 15 minutes from Carcassonne and its medieval city, our Shanti & Sukha house (meaning Peace and Happiness in Sanskrit) awaits you for a peaceful stay in the heart of nature.
Nestled in the hills above the pretty village of Ladern-sur-Lauquet (220 inhabitants), the timber-framed house will offer you a restful stay conducive to relaxation and meditation.
Measuring around 110m² on a plot of over 1000m², the house comprises a living room of around 50m², 2 bedrooms with 4 single beds (80×200) and one bedroom with a double bed (160×200), a toilet and a bathroom.
Outside, a 36m² terrace lets you enjoy lunch in the shade under the pergola, with views of the Pyrenees and olive groves.
Lastly, you’ll have access to an unoverlooked relaxation area, including a 15m² terrace with a 4-seater Jacuzzi.
Thanks to its ideal location, you’ll have plenty of choices for swimming: the river in the heart of the village but also in the surrounding area, the sea 1h15 away or the lakes and leisure centers around 20 minutes away.
There are plenty of paths and trails in the surrounding area to enjoy on foot or by bike.
Here, there’s no wifi, no TV (for total disconnection), just lush green nature, olive groves and vineyards.
You can take a refreshing dip in the river just a few yards from the house and enjoy the peace and quiet.
From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed, you’ll have birdsong as your only background sound.
Ladern-sur Lauquet
Shanti & Sukha is located in the heart of the small village of Ladern-sur Lauquet, in the Aude department.
Historically and culturally, the commune is part of the Corbières massif, a limestone chaos forming the transition between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees.
Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is drained by the Lauquet, Alberte and various other small streams.
